the topic is weather
Wow! There is a lot of snow outside. Everyone is hoping for a snow day tomorrow. I really couldn't care less. Let's see, in school, we are learning about human rights, I think. We learned about people who are gay and how they are treated at schools, churches, at home and in the military. It's really sad but true. Well, we just had our choir concert. It was two of them in one day, so that was intense. The first concert was bad, but the second one was a lot better. I wish they had recorded that one instead. I am so glad that this is going to be the last week until winter break. I think we are going to New York to see that amazing big Christmas tree. That'll be fun. And in Chinese, we are learning about weather and transportation. And on Tuesday, we are going to talk to Chinese people about all of the snow. That would be good.

Yeah.
Well, this week has gone by and I don't think much has changed. In English, we've talked about the Holocaust and other stuff like that. I think it's just another boring week. But I get to do some theatre stuff soon. The Holiday Marathon is coming soon and I can't wait until it comes back. Then there is Varsity Varieties after that and then the Spring Musical. Oh well, until then, I guess. I can't wait for Christmas break to come so I can do nothing and nothing and.......... nothing. Ok, my mind is a complete blank right now. Let me think of something else. In speech, we are working on our final speech and I think I can actually get somewhat of a good grade on this. Because it is going to be something that I actually know about. It's going to be about the best book series ever. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I don't think that there is anything else to say. By the way, this might have been the longest blog I have ever done. I put too much thinking and too much blanking out into this blog. Right........ see ya!

Black History Paragraphs
Well, the first question says "Using specific names an places, briefly summarize the capters from Nightjohn in your own words." Let's see, it's all about a girl named Sarny who is just a little African girl in the south who is just trying to keep positive. And, soon, she meets a man who everyone calls Nightjohn. The first night he was there, he was trying to trade for tobacco with "letters". Good thing that Sarny sad some and that is how she was starting to learn to read. Which is not allowed down south. Speaking of which, Nightjohn was actually from the south and had escaped to the north. There he had learned English and wanted to teach other people down south. So he came back. Then the rest of the story is all about how he teaches her the first three letters of the alphabet.
Next, this question is "Using specific names and places, briefly summarize 'Mascot' in your own words." It's just a story about Malcom X and how his life was. And's really how it's about how he was in high school and counts himself as the "Mascot" of the school because of how he is.
And last is "Using specific details from the setting and story, compare ad contrast The Great Debaters to the two stories we read in class." Okay. So the setting is school just like the Mascot but up north unlike Nightjohn. There were many people who were black there just like Nightjohn and unlike Mascot where there were barely any. But they were all about segregation and racism and that is what we were trying to link all we learned together.

Week.Update
Well just got back from a boring trip to Maryland to visit my aunt and uncle. It wasn't fun at all. Nothing interesing even happened. We were supposed to go to some cool national park but when we got there, we thought we weren't going to have enough fuel, so we just left. So most of the trip was in the car. Well, school update. Let's see, theatre is over so I've been drawn to a lot of Chinese stuff. There are Chinese tutorings and I go to help others with it. And maybe for my own benifit. We also did a lot of skyping. We get to talk to people all the way from China using the computer. I think it's a lot easier than talking to them on the phone and having no idea what they are saying. Well, in English, we are talkimg a lot about racism and prejudice. I have no idea what the moral of this whole this thing is. But I hope we find out tomorrow. We watch a lot of movie in class and I am not complaining one bit. The speeches in Speech class are getting harder and harder. I have no idea if I'll even pas that class. Let's hope I do. In choir, we are sining with eigth graders for a small concert. Positive; we get to sing with some yunger kids and se what they're made of. Negative; one of them is my brother. I think I need to start studying because my grades are never that good when it comes to them. I don't know if it's because I'm under pressure or I don't get it. I just need to do something about it and studying is a good start. That's the weekly update.

Theatre
Theatre is over! That makes me sad. It was the only thing keeping me going everyday since the beginning of the year. I hope I can do crew for the other theatre stuff like Holiday Marathon, Varsity Varieties, and The Thoroughly Modern Milly. If not, then I'll just go to school and home like I have nothing to live for. I'm not in any clubs and I'm not planning to really. So, in English, we finally finished the book 12 Angry Men and saw the movie. I'd say it was better than the Mockingbird movie, that's for sure. The fall play was closer to the book than that. What I want to know is what did everyone think about the play? How did it affect you when you saw it? And do you think the play was better or the movie?

Play Week!
Well, last week we were preparing for the fall play. Our first showcase is this Wednesday for all of the sophmores. Also, in English, we are finishing up the play, the twelve angry men or something. Well, I am so psyched that we are finally almost finished with all of the product stuff. Now it is finally presentable for the whole school and anyone else who's watching! I'm so glad that we I'm in theatre. It is the only thing I've stuck to all of high school so far. What I found out is that this is a "Mockingbird" year. It's weird because there is a "To Kill a Mockingbird" the play, book, and movie. There is also a Rob Thomas song called Mockingbird. It's all too weird. I think I should keep up with this year and do a "Mockingbird" related poem. Since that is the only thing I'm good at. All I've got is the title so far and I'm planning to finish it before the end of either this week or this month. Either way, I'm making one. I hope it can be as good as all of my other ones. I'm trying to get back into the poetry mojo again. Wish me luck!

Boring.
These blogs are so boring. Does he ever actually look at these posts? I've been talking smack about him and I don't think he's even realized it yet (kidding). Well, we're finally done with the book. That didn't take as long as I thought. Either way, that just means that we're getting closer to the fall play. It's going to be cool doing the play of a book I just read. Well they did plan this if you didn't know. It's the 50th anniversary of the book and the whole school is celebrating it. I just realized today that I practically live at school. I'm there longer than I usually am at home. Even on the weekend. It's all because of school, of course, and theatre stuff. I'm not complaining or anything but I'm there from 7:30 to 5:00. And on Saturdays are from 10:00 to 6:00. Sundays have something different for me every time but there is always something happening on that day. Speaking of English (not really), I am finally writing poems again. No one knows this but I have been writing poems but had a block for a while. Now I wrote a new one and I'm gonna post it up right after this blog. The site is <poemhunter.com>. Put in Michael Chau in the Search for: section and you get one poet. That is me and you'll find all six of my poems. I know it's small, but I don't get inspired so easily, SORRY!

This Sucks!
I hate these blogs so badly. Does Mr. Potter ever read these posts? I wish he could because I can never do them and sometimes forget to do them. I probably have a bad grade for these blogs because I can never get to a comuter fast enough. At least my internet is finally working again. Since I have a big family with a bunch of kids, I'll only get the internet for a week tops. That's just the way it is. Well tomorrow I'm going to be at school from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's better than being stuck at home all day. We are trying as hard as we can to finish up the set for "To Kill a Mockingbird". Which we are also finishing up soon in class. I wish that the play would start already. The process to getting there is really boring and it would be a lot easier if it just starts now so we can start the other stuff too. Theatre is my life and I hope I can stick to it until I graduate. It is a lot of fun and it gives me somethingto do all year.

Wow!
Wow! I can't believe that this week is over and now I have noting to do except for going to the homecoming stuff, and go to sleep. And then next week is only a three day week and that's great. If only this school year can come by quickly like freshman year. I miss that year. If I can do that whole year again, I will. Well, what happens, happens and that's it. I have no idea what to write about now. In English, we are starting the book, "To Kill a Mockingbird" and I can't get into the book. If only I have seen the play already. Usually, if I have a background of the book, I might like it better. But it's not happening. But I'm still psyched about the fall play. I hope I make crew for the play again because that is my whole life. The only thing I can do now is hope. Mr. Potter's class is getting more and more boring for some reason. I have no idea why. It might be just because I am just too tired, or my stupid procrastination is finally kicking in. I hope that it will not happen soon. It hasn't happened yet and I am trying not to. So be warned, it could happen.

Research Paper
Man I hate this research paper that we're finally finishing up. I wish that we will never do it again. My topic was on the Chicago Seven Trial about how so many U.S. citizens were sent to Vietnam out of random. It was none of their business to be even interfere in the first place. Well, in the end, two people were innocent and the other about five to seven people were sent to jail for five years and has a 5000 dollar fine. That was stupid.
On to another subject. The fall play is finally coming. This week I got to do build crew for the play again. It felt like forever since I have stayed after school for something, work with a power drill and saw, and gotten a few splinters. Good times. Well, the school play this year is going to be "To Kill a Mockingbird" and that is why all of the English classes are required to read the book. I have no backround knowledge about the book or the play, so this will be an awkward fall. I've been hearing that some people didn't like the book, but a bunch of people do. So I can't wait untill I get my own opinion on it. This has been a better week than the usually weeks so far in this school year. I know it is going to get better. This Sunday, there is going to be a choir concert. If anyone wants to see awesome singing, then come watch. It starts at 3:00. It is going to be awesome. I'm in A Cappella so we get to start off the night with an awesome entrance that will blow your minds off.
I guess I'm going to hit the beds or stay up for a while. It doesn't matter, it's the weekend and school won't come back for a while. Time to catch up on my sleeping.

I hate blogs!
Well, that's great. Apparently my blog post did not go all the way through on the internet. That's the last time I use my brother's phone to do homework. Well, it's only fair if I do this blog for about thirty minutes or so. Well last week was pretty tiring. I was really tired every single day of that and what's even worse is that our English class is working on a research project where we have to research on a major event or something and write about it. I just hope that I actually finish this project all the way and on time. I'm not doing good right now, but I plan to do it better. English and History were never my better subjects through the school years. I think that I just don't find anything interesting in them for some reason. Math I like is because the class is all about numbers and I think that they show up everywhere and that is something I think about more often than words. Math is, to me, one of the easiest subjects there is. I just think that anyone can get it easily. As lobg as they listen and look at the problem. Math always has an exact answer and that would be easier to figure out and is less complicating than any other subject.
With English, the words are big and it is mostly research and writing. Both of which I hate so much (no offence). I was never good at writing and that was a flaw with me. However, the only thing I can do in English is probably poetry. Which was not a good thing to be excel at since we only did poetry for about three days and it was all reading. No one even got to see my skills. English also consists of reading and I am a very slow reader. Books that I don't find interests, I can't read fast at all. And I have a really small selection of books I do read. It is mostly consist of fantasy and adventure that has almost nothing to do with school. That is why Harry Potter is not a book that I like to read. Something I like falls to the category of books like "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" and "The Ranger's Apprentice." I know most people have never heard of those books but almost every person I recommended the Percy Jackson book to has not been able to put the book down until they have read the whole series. Something you guys should take a look at.
Next up is History. It has never liked me and it might never will. The main reason to have that class is to remember the past so we can do better for the future. However the future does not consist of dates like the 1800's and the 1900's. This is already now the 21st century and we should move on instead of "living in the past." Get it! History does give you much to do except for just remember everything. With math, there are things that you can remember subconsciensly while, with history, you have to remember everything or you fail that class and you would then have to take it again. There might have just been some problems with me and my teachers why I do not do as well as I could've done. All through middle school, I had the worst teachers for teachers and the meanest ones for homeroom, which, two out of three of them, were English. Last year I did the best I ever did in English ever. I passed with flying colors and it was because the teacher I had was nice. Maybe that 's something I should think about at the end of the year from now on. All of the teachers that I did bad on must not be the better teachers. That would be an awkward way to evaluate, but so far has been acurate.
This blog is taking forever and I'm not sure how long I have been writing for. I hope it's enough. Yet I don't think it is. Man I hate this blog. I think that we would all appreciate it if we would just have these blogs due once every two weeks or once a month. I don't think we can take this forever. Sooner or later I'm gonna crack. Every time I have been doing this blog, I have been tired and stressed out because I have no idea what to talk about. I'm doing this blog right now so then I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the week. It would be smarter but not that efficient. I can't wait until we can type things on the computer voice automated or at least subconsciencly because my hands are getting tired. Another thing with English is that they expect too much. Same goes with History and Speech. With math, the main thing to get out of it is the answer and how to get there. The other classes are all about one thing is against the other and the length is never short. English is about two to five pages for one question. History is about a paragraph. And in Speech, you are not even aloud to write the answer, you can only write an outline of it and the answer is timed and has to be spoken out or you fail. Sometimes it is even filmed.
No offence to anyone, but math is a better subject for me. And no offence to Mr. Potter, but I really hate this blog!!

School
Man! This was a long week. I thought it would never end. I was practically falling asleep in every class. Including Mr. Potter's class. Although I wasn't fully asleep, I was drifting off. I think it actually was because of his monotone voice after all. Either that, or else it was because we got so much free. Hopefully next week I'll be more energetic like last year. English, though, really is a good class and I think I might be able to pass the class. Middle school's english class was somehow a lot harder than the classes in high school. It might just have been that I didn't like the teachers that much because of how they were in class. Mr. Potter is pretty nice so I might do good in his class. I should be working on my homework then!
One thing I like about English is that they are the class that poetry falls under. I have loved poetry my whole life (sixth grade). However, I have been off the writing for a while. I hope to get back as soon as I get inspiration from something to write. If anyone wants to see any of my five good poems, go to http://poemhunter.com/ and then put in Michael Chau in the "Search for:" part. Then you'll find one poet and most likely that would be me. I might write again or I might leave it as it is and quit forever. (Please Comment). Another thing that I am looking forward to a little is the book "To Kill a Mockingbird." This year is supposedly the 50th anniversary of the book. So the theater department is going to do the play for the fall play this year at the High School. Hope everyone comes and supports us (I might be in it). I hope we can read it soon so one; we can get it over with, and two; I can have an idea of what the play is about before we do it.
Mr. Potter is a good teacher, I think, so far. He is nice to everyone and I think more teachers should be like him. Almost all of my teachers are pretty much like him but some could be more energetic and some are perfect. I think he falls in-between the category (no offence). But I think he is someone I can look back to and still say was one of the better teachers I had. I'll just have to wait until the end of the year to find out.
Well, I think it has been around fifteen minutes or so. I'll blog more next week. Because if I don't, I'll most likely fail this class.
